Last week I celebrated with many talented designers the opening of the 2nd Annual Kips Bay Palm Beach Show House. It was a beautiful party where guests were able to preview the rooms and celebrate with the designers.
We were all given three months to design a room that we felt had the Palm Beach look and style. My firm was given a small study to design and right away I knew it was going to be a lounge, something to draw people in for “cocktails and conversation.” Working on a show house is not very different than any other interior design project. You choose a direction and implement the design. When designing a show house you want to create something really interesting but also a room that feels livable and stands the test of time. Inspired by fabrics that have a true bohemian feel, I chose to work with one of Lisa Fine’s fabrics called Calico Stripe in Lipstick color way. Red, raspberry and pink echoed with a bright happy turquoise turned out to be the perfect combination. Very preppy boho as I like to call it.
Its amazing with social media as you get to see other peoples perspective through their posts etc. I have included here some of my favorite images of our room . It all started with a vision on paper. And in these images you can see it really is all about the details!
